Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the XL (40th) Panhellenic Conference on Solid State Physics & Materials Science, which will take place in Patras, Greece, from 20 to 23 September 2026.
The conference is jointly organized by the Condensed Matter Division of the Department of Physics and the Department of Materials Science of the University of Patras.
This conference continues a long-standing tradition of bringing together researchers, academics, and professionals working in the fields of solid state physics and materials science. It attracts participants from diverse disciplines—including physics, chemistry, materials science & engineering, and biology—from Greece and abroad. The meeting provides an important forum for presenting recent advances, exchanging ideas, and strengthening collaborations within our scientific community.
Over the course of four days, the conference will feature invited lectures, contributed oral presentations, and poster sessions covering a broad range of topics in contemporary solid state physics and materials science. We hope that the program will stimulate fruitful discussions, inspire new research directions, and foster meaningful interaction between senior researchers and young scientists.
Beyond the scientific program, we also hope that participants will enjoy the opportunity to experience the vibrant city of Patras—a historic coastal city known for its cultural heritage, lively atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings.
We warmly invite you to join us in September 2026 and contribute to what we hope will be a stimulating and memorable conference.
We look forward to welcoming you to Patras.
With our best regards,
The Organizing Committee
